On Friday, we set off from Blackpool to London on the M6 via Birmingham before joining up with M1. It was quite a smooth ride - we were even on cruise mode without any interruption for more than an hour.In all it took exactly 4 hours including a stopover for fuel. Luckily England is not suffering the fuel shortage as in Scotland where long queues were forming due to panic buying. This is due to the current strike in some of the major refineries resulting in the shutting down of the North Sea oil export line. The petrol price at the same time climbed up to £1.10 per litre! Imagine if you need to fill up your tank - cost us £56.
On the other side of the M6 motorway heading North, we saw a roadwork where the motorway was reduced to only one lane. We saw the queue forming behind, must have been 20 km long! We also set off early as up to 18 million people are expected to be on the road later on the day for the start of the long Bank Holiday weekend.
