From the London Eye, one can directly see the Downing Street, the official residences of the UK Prime Minister (No. 10) and the Chancellor of the Exchequer (No. 11).Downing Street is within a walking distance from the House of Parliment and the ground of the Buckingham Palace is just right at the end of the street.
In the past there were plans to build a more modern building in the Downing Street. Again British being very conservative, the plans never took off.
